Mercantile Hall is a new, urban & industrial chic event venue in Burlington, Wisconsin that sits squarely in the heart of the city's historic downtown. From its construction before the turn of the century, the building has morphed from a mercantile (old school mall) to a department store, and most recently a furniture store that was ravaged by a massive 5-alarm fire in 2014. Interestingly, as the restoration crews worked hard to clear the fire debris by removing the layers of soot and melted wires, the most amazing discovery was found - the original hardwood floors hiding beneath a fireproof polyester covering. The warm tones of the wood floors and the exposed imperfect brick walls make the most beautiful setting that can take on a variety of looks including industrial, vintage, modern, rustic, or artsy.

So it was a fateful day just about two years later when the idea was born to take that amazing space and create something insanely special. Two women dedicated to service, community, and fun (along with a posse of friends, family, and community members) helped Mercantile Hall take its first full breath in the Spring of 2017. Leaving its original elements intact, the entire space features experience-rich design with components that can be changed to transform each and every event making the space unique each time.

Mercantile Hall is owned by Wendy Lynch & was co-founded with Mercantile Hall's Director of Events Stephanie Heft. Their cup of love for Burlington spilleth over as they work hard to create a place for dreamy weddings, awesome corporate events, school and civic functions, and supersized community events. We love meeting new people so send us a note if you want to drop by and see what we've got going on in there. We love to share our passion and show off this beautiful space.

Review received 6/7/17: Mercantile Hall- you are a dream come true! I am so thankful that we took a risk in choosing Mercantile Hall as our wedding reception venue, although the space was still under construction. We love & cherish the history of the building and what the owners are doing for the city of Burlington. In a nutshell, Mercantile Hall exceeded our vision for the space. Stephanie, the event planner, was amazing to work with! She was extremely responsive and supportive in the planning process. Her team blew us away on the wedding day- they were SO professional, kind, and thoughtful! They really kept everything together :) I don't know what we would have done without them. Here is a perfect example, we planned to have a popcorn bar and brought all the decorations in the night before. Believe it or not, I (bride) forgot to pick up the gourmet popcorn we ordered! When Stephanie realized that, her team went out (8 pm) and got popcorn for us!! They will go above and beyond for you! Finally, our guests had an amazing time! Everyone was extremely complimentary of the space & no one wanted to leave at the end of the night! Merc Hall, thank you SO MUCH for making our wedding such a spectacular day! I have no doubt that your venue will become a highly sought-after location.
