First things first...Book your caterer!
It's important to setup your tastings, and decide on a caterer soon after booking. This will be a large part of your wedding budget, and will determine how your event will flow, how much space you will need on your table and/or inside the actual hall. So before you start planning to have a photo booth or 20 candles on your table, let's get the food booked!
Your Photographer and Videographer
Finding the right photographer for you is a huge deal! They are with you almost the entire day, and they should be working hard to make you feel beautiful, comfortable, and carefree. Plus, their shooting and editing style should be everything you imagined for your day. These are your memories that they are capturing, and you want those pictures and video to be something you look back on over and over again.
Hotels can book up quickly, especially if your wedding is taking place on a holiday weekend. Typically, you can get a room block 1 year out, and it doesn't hurt to call even before then to see if they have a list to put you on. We have some great hotels all within 20 mins (Lake Geneva is super close!), so make sure to give your guests a few options.
Your Ceremony Location
Mercantile Hall can accommodate up to 150 people for an indoor ceremony, and we can accommodate up to 150 for an outdoor ceremony in the Urb Garden. Depending on your guest list size and timeline, this may not always work for you. So it's important to start your search for the right ceremony location for you and your guests.
Everyone knows that besides your venue, that your dress sets the tone for the style of your event. Start the process early so that you have enough time to find the perfect dress, and have alterations. On average, it takes 4-6 months for your dress to come in, and 2 months for alterations. Also, don't forget you and all your girls get a discount at our sister company, Bon Bon Belle! If your wedding party purchases dresses right upstairs at Bon Bon Belle, their friendly team steams your wedding dress & all of your bridesmaid dresses the day before, complimentary.
You even have the opportunity to ‘rent out the store’ for your entire bridal party, for a discounted Merc Hall rate of $100 ($150 savings). That experience is offered on Monday - Friday, and it is absolutely awesome…..
Your bridal party is greeted and offered their choice of Mimosa, Pellegrino or Prosecco and shown to a large area complete with comfortable furniture and oodles of natural light. You will have between 1-3 dedicated Consultants (depending on your party size) who will cater to your wishes throughout the entire experience. First we devote all of our attention to our Bride with a 2 hour appointment dedicated to helping you find your gown. Next, we spend an additional hour with all of your bridesmaids to assist them with finding their dresses. The entire store is yours, with all fitting rooms dedicated to you and your family & friends. The experience includes white wine & champagne, as well as nibbles (brunch items for morning appointments and light appetizers for evening appointments). And if you’d like for the experience to be captured on film, we will arrange for a photographer to be on-site to capture the memories as they are made.
